COMMERCIAL LANDSCAPE DESIGN
SERVICES (Note: all figures are exclusive
of GST, unless otherwise stated) We work in both the
commercial and residential sectors throughout New
Zealand. Robyn
has designed gardens for us at the Auckland Home Show, the Autumn Home Show and
most recently our own JAGAS show gardens at our factory in East Tamaki.
We chose Robyn because she knows our products well and she is such a pleasure
to deal with. Robert Sweet, Director, JAGAS Paving Limited, LANDSCAPE PLANS FOR RESOURCE CONSENT Resource Consent
applications frequently require Landscape Plans as part of the submission. We
are experienced in preparing these plans, for which we can provide a fixed
price once we know the scope of the work. If you have detailed plans available,
it may not be necessary for us to visit your site. Contact
us now to prepare an estimate for a Landscape Plan for your property. View our portfolio of commercial designs here. Improve the
desirability of your property by scheduling a Full
Design Service. This could include any of the following. INITIAL CONSULTATION A full design
service will generally begin with an initial consultation. This will give us
a chance to meet with you onsite, discuss what you hope to achieve with the
project, and to review the scope of the job. We will then summarise the brief
taken and send you a proposal for our landscape design services. An Initial
Consultation within the Auckland region is $195 (including GST). Schedule an Initial Consultation with Laurenson
Landscape Design. STAGE ONE – CONCEPTUAL DESIGN Site Survey The first step of
the Conceptual Design process is the site survey. This involves our returning
to the site and includes: ·
Recording
positions of existing features and plants to be retained ·
Recording
levels to determine gradients and height variations ·
Assessing
neighbouring properties for screening, shading, etc ·
Taking
photographs for recall purposes ·
Searching
Council files for relevant site information ·
Drawing
a base plan with the information gathered as a starting point in the design
process We will generally
ask you to supply us with copies of building and site plans (showing the
position of buildings in relation to the boundaries) before proceeding with
this step. A site survey may not be necessary, depending on the thoroughness
of the building and site plans. Conceptual Design We will then prepare
and present to you a rendered Concept Plan for the property, showing you our
vision for your new garden layout. This will help to clarify your thoughts
and ideas. It is important that you are happy with the Conceptual Design
before we proceed to the working drawings. A Concept Plan: ·
Is
a plan view of our proposals, drawn to scale ·
May
include a perspective sketch and/or elevation to better illustrate these
ideas ·
Will
give a generalized idea of the design intent rather than specific details ·
Is
not intended to be used for the purposes of obtaining quotes or consents, or
for instructing contractors We will give you a
fixed price for the Conceptual Design either after we have visited the site
or when we have viewed the building and site plans. STAGE TWO – DOCUMENTATION The Documentation
and Working Drawings will become a valuable communication tool, assisting you
in communicating your ideas clearly to landscape contractors, builders, and
local authorities. This work may include: ·
Drawing up a Site
Plan, including site coverage percentages ·
Obtaining
neighbours’ signatures ·
Writing a letter of
‘Assessment of Effects’ ·
Lodging a Resource
Consent ·
Engaging an
engineer to design all details for items requiring Building Consent ·
Finalizing details
such as paving type, fence styles, etc ·
Preparing a Scope
of Works ·
Preparing Working
Drawings ·
Drawing up a
Drainage Plans ·
Lodging a Building
Consent ·
Drawing up a
Planting Plan ·
Drawing up a
Lighting Plan ·
Having an
Irrigation Plan prepared We can give you
fixed prices for the Planting and Lighting Plans once the Concept has been
finalised. The remaining services are charged for at our current hourly rate,
and for costs incurred. STAGE THREE – TENDER/QUOTING Once the design and
drawing phases of the project have been completed, we are able to assist with
getting prices from reputable landscape contractors for having the work
undertaken. This takes the hassle out of organizing the project and involves: ·
Arranging for
contractors to produce quotes for landscape work ·
Meeting contractors
on site to go over the project, presenting plans and Scope of Works for
costing ·
Checking quotes for
completeness ·
Presenting quotes
to the client For this service we
charge for our time at our current hourly rate, and for costs incurred. STAGE FOUR – PROJECT OBSERVATION We are also able to
undertake project observation, if required. This involves our visiting the
site at least once a week during the construction phase of the project, and
being available on call to assist with
design advice for minor changes. Selecting this option helps to ensure the
integrity of the design is maintained. For this service we
charge for our time at our current hourly rate, and for costs incurred. You may, of course,
elect to supervise construction of the project yourselves, in which case we
are available to answer queries and visit the site as and when required. We
can also assist with the supply of plants and soil product. ONGOING CONSULTATION We
can provide ongoing consultation at our hourly rate of $110. Work outside Auckland is charged at our
daily rate of $550 plus expenses. LANDSCAPING PARTNERS It is important to us
that your garden is installed and managed professionally, so that the end
result is a garden you can be proud of for years to come. With this in mind,
we choose to work with the following landscape contractors.
